Integrative Ecological Systems Analysis

Description
  • Development of mechanistic models for aquatic ecosystems by combining knowledge from theoretical ecology (food web theory, metabolic theory of ecology, ecological stoichiometry) and applied ecology (trait data bases, field studies). Use of these models for improving our understanding of ecosystem functioning and for the prediction of effects from measures or changing environmental influence factors. Application of Bayesian techniques for model calibration and uncertainty analysis.

  • Model-based decision support for environmental management combining model prediction with multi-criteria decision support techniques to support decisions with multiple objectives and multiple stakeholder perspectives.
